Scientific Name: Viola wittrockiana

Description:
Pansies are cold hardy annuals that may be grown as winter annuals. Flowers feature a distinctive "face" pattern. Colors range from white, blue, lavender, purple, burgundy, yellow and orange to bi-colors. Pansies can be planted in the fall and over-wintered. Pansies thrive in cool weather and start to deteriorate as temperatures increase in early summer.
