Scientific Name: Quercus sp.

Description:
Oaks are large, woody trees. Several types are native to Kansas. The leaves are alternate and are usually lobed, although some types, including the Shingle Oak and Willow Oak have smooth margins. Lobes may be rounded or toothed. The seed is an acorn.
