K-State Radio Network

"The Voice of Kansas State University"

The K-State Radio Network is a free audio service from K-State Research and Extension, the Department of Communications and Agricultural Education, and Kansas State University to radio stations throughout Kansas and the U.S. It is distributed online. The features are also available for downloading or listening by the general public.

Mission

The Radio Unit shares the vision and realizes the mission and values of the Department of Communications and Agricultural Education, K-State Research and Extension, and the K-State College of Agriculture by producing information-based programming for radio stations throughout Kansas, and by consulting with faculty, staff, specialists and county agents regarding radio and the media.

Programs

  • Agriculture Today
    K-State agricultural specialists and other experts examine agricultural issues facing Kansas and the nation. Agriculture Today is a daily program hosted by Eric Atkinson and distributed to radio stations throughout the state and region.

  • Sound Living
    Sound Living is a weekly public affairs program distributed to radio stations throughout the area that addresses issues related to families and consumers.  It is hosted by Jeff Wichman.
  • Perspective
    Perspective is a weekly public affairs program hosted by Richard Baker, and distributed to radio stations throughout the state.

  • Other Radio Features
    Many other programs related to the K-State Research and Extension mission are developed regularly and target specific areas of interest to Kansas citizens.
