Membership and Professional DevelopmentThe membership and professional development committee is responsible for promoting KACDEP membership to K-State Research and Extension Professionals and affiliates to deliver the benefits of the association to an expanded audience. The committee uses diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as a guiding principle in its work. The committee will meet twice a year with one meeting being held after the annual KACDEP meeting to update the KACDEP membership brochure for the recruitment of new members and during the early summer months to plan for a membership drive.Marlin Bates

Policies and ProceduresThe policies and procedures committee shall annually review existing bylaws and written policy for consideration and identify any inconsistencies between the bylaws of NACDEP and KS JCEP. The committee uses diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as a guiding principle in its work. The committee should meet at least once a year at least two months before the designated annual meeting of KACDEP. The committee is also responsible for ensuring that KACDEP members are notified of the opportunity to propose any bylaw changes to any proposed amendments being sent to members as specified in the bylaws.David KeyMarlin Bates, Tara Markley
Budget/FundraisingThe budget and fund-raising committee is responsible for meeting at least once a year to conduct an annual internal review of the financial records and works with the KACDEP Treasurer to develop an annual budget that is presented at the Fall meeting. The committee uses diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as a guiding principle in its work. This committee will also make recommendations for fund-raising strategies as needed for consideration by the membership.Nancy Daniels - Treasurer

Awards/RecognitionThe awards and recognition committee is responsible for professional promotion and recognition of its members through award applications at the local level. The committee is then responsible for encouraging members to apply for national recognition to further promote professionalism within the organization. Nominating (Election)The nominating committee is organized and chaired by the past-president. The committee is responsible for identifying nominees for election to KACDEP offices. Maintaining Committee Records:

To ensure adequate record keeping by committees, each committee chair will maintain written records (electronic or hard copy) to be provided to the Secretary for an official record of the organization. The records should be on the KACDEP website and could/would include:

  1. Committee membership
  2. Minutes/meeting notes of each meeting, whether face to face or by telephone
  3. Important correspondence
  4. Written committee reports presented to the membership
